There are times in my career as a photographer that makes all of the stress and time away from my family totally worth it. Yesterday was definitely one of those times! Most photography clients have no idea the time that it takes not just in capturing your images but the work afterwards. Senior and newborn sessions can take up to 3/4 hours in post production. That's a 2-3 hour session, travel time and 3/4 hours in front of a computer. It's a lot of work but it's work that I take great pride in and I find myself smiling the whole time I'm editing and reminiscing about our time together. Yesterday was emotional. I've never attended a military welcome home but I have experienced and photographed several international adoption homecomings at the airport and I have found them so precious and special. Yesterday....I was tearing up before I even walked through the gates. Ya'll it was such a priceless experience. These men and women have sacrificed so much for us! Seeing all of those family's waiting on their loved ones, loved ones that they haven't seen seen in almost 11 months. Women with small children who have been doing this alone. I cannot imagine!
I was there to photograph this beautiful family and their homecoming. Sweet Carson was born while her daddy was away and he was meeting her and holding her for THE VERY FIRST TIME! It was over the top emotional but I held it together and just clicked away. Thank you so much Jacob for your service to our country and WELCOME HOME!
