I love newborn photography. I do! Many times (most times to be honest) it's challenging. I always tell my moms that if they want their baby sleeping, their child will be awake the whole time and if they want their child awake they will sleep. It almost always happens this way. Many times we have to stop several times during the session and have mom feed the baby. There are always diaper changes, a few tears, and a lots of spit up (keep those burp cloths handy)! But that is okay. I wish I could go back and count how many newborn sessions that I've done over the years. I wish I was that good of a record keeper but I'd say it's well over 100. I've just about seen it all and I'm prepared for just about anything. I love the challenge of it! I love the simplicity of it! I love everything about my newborn sessions.
I especially love lifestyle newborn sessions done in my client's homes. I love getting to travel to my clients's homes and capturing their new family in their own space. Last Saturday's session with sweet baby Trey was no exception. Even though it was cloudy and overcast, their home was so full of light and most importantly love. I felt like family just walking into their home. Everywhere I looked there were images of family, their wedding, and things that they love. I'm so happy to know that Trey's first images will now be displayed among those things. Trey was a rock star! He was awake almost the whole time and was so alert. The most beautiful part to me though was Trey with mom and dad. These are my favorite images from our time together.
